SevaFind (sevafind.com, and the SevaFind Android app) helps people check recently reported service availability, crowd levels, and operational status at public hospitals before travelling there. This page explains what information SevaFind collects, why, and how it is used.
SevaFind is not a medical service. It does not provide diagnosis, treatment recommendations, or medical advice, and it does not guarantee that any hospital service is actually available — information shown is based on recent reports and may be incomplete or out of date. For a medical emergency, contact emergency services directly.
Using SevaFind without an account
You do not need to create an account or provide your name, email, or phone number to browse hospitals, view service status, or submit an anonymous community report.
To let the app recognise repeat visits from the same device (for example, to apply fair-use limits on how often the same device can submit reports) SevaFind generates a random, anonymous installation identifier and stores it on your device. This identifier is not linked to your name or any other personal detail, and it is different on every device.
Location
SevaFind never collects your location automatically or in the background. If you choose to submit a community report, the app may ask, at that moment only, for a single one-time location reading to help verify that the report is genuinely coming from near the hospital. This is entirely optional — you can decline and still submit a report, and you can still browse the nearby-hospitals list (based on a coarse, one-time location check) without ever submitting a report.
Community reports
Anything you submit through the community reporting form (availability, crowd level, wait time, and any optional note) is stored as evidence contributing to that service's status. Reports are never automatically treated as confirmed fact — they are combined with other reports and reviewed before they can change what other visitors see as the current status. Do not include your name, phone number, or any other personal or medical information in a report's free-text note.
Notifications (Follow)
If you choose to "Follow" a hospital or a specific service in the SevaFind Android app, and you grant notification permission, the app registers a push notification token (provided by Firebase Cloud Messaging, a Google service) with SevaFind's server so it can notify you when that service's status changes. Declining notification permission does not prevent you from using the rest of the app — you simply won't receive push notifications. You can stop following at any time, which removes your notification token from that subscription.
SevaFind Mitra (enrolled local contributors)
SevaFind Mitra is a separate, manually-enrolled contributor program for verified local volunteers. A Mitra's phone number and/or email address is collected only after an administrator has enrolled them, and is used solely to deliver a one-time sign-in code (OTP) and to identify their submitted reports internally. Mitra reports go through the same evidence process as anonymous community reports — a Mitra sign-in does not, by itself, make a report an official or confirmed status.
Who else sees this information
SevaFind does not sell your information, and does not share it with advertisers. A small number of third-party service providers process data strictly to make SevaFind work:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivers push notifications to devices that have opted in via Follow. Google processes the notification token according to its own privacy policy.
- Resend — delivers the one-time sign-in email to enrolled SevaFind Mitra contributors only; not used for anonymous patient traffic.
- Our hosting and database infrastructure providers, who store the data described above on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes.
All data in transit between your device and SevaFind is encrypted (HTTPS).
How long information is kept
Community and Mitra reports are kept as a permanent evidence record, the same way a public log of reported conditions would be kept — SevaFind does not currently offer a way to request deletion of an individual report. The anonymous installation identifier and any push notification token are kept only as long as needed for their stated purpose (rate limiting and notification delivery respectively) and are cleared automatically if you uninstall the app or clear its app data.
Children
SevaFind is intended for general use by the public and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Its core browsing and reporting functionality does not require any personal information from any user.
